The metacrisis (or polycrisis) is the recognition that global catastrophic risks don't exist in isolation—climate change, wealth inequality, war, species extinction, and other risks interact with each other through cascading effects, meaning that solving them requires addressing the underlying coordination failures and misaligned incentive structures that drive all of them.
