The U.S. faces a debt spiral: paying $800 billion in interest annually on debt, then borrowing that $800 billion back at higher rates, then paying interest on the borrowed amount—this is mathematically unsustainable and will continue until the U.S. either grows out of it (impossible) or undergoes something like Weimar hyperinflation.
