Iran could make a dash toward nuclear weaponization in the absence of intrusive verification and monitoring that the JCPOA had set up, and while there is no evidence of a decision to reverse the supreme leader's 2003 edict to pause weaponization, it is possible Iran could attempt to build a crude nuclear device given it has significant highly enriched uranium and the know-how.
