Fukuyama's background as a Soviet military analyst at RAND Corporation for 10 years taught him that wars are won or lost by military logistics, and he observed that Russians don't pay attention to logistics, which led to their defeat around Kiev in early stages of war, setbacks in Kharkiv and Kherson, and will ultimately do them in in Crimea.
