Research on the 'end of history illusion' shows that humans dramatically overestimate how much they will change in the future relative to how much they actually changed in the past: people recall substantial personality and value changes over the previous decade but predict they will remain largely unchanged over the next decade.
In the 'Humor, Serious Business' class, the speaker and teaching team have shifted the ratio of teacher effort from 80% repetitive feedback (given year to year with minimal change) to only 20% truly elevated or new content, creating inefficiency that wastes human potential and opportunity for connection.
