Three rough theological positions on history exist: (1) the Christian position that history is terrible but requires forgiveness; (2) the woke position that history is terrible and rejects forgiveness; and (3) the right-wing Nietzschean position that denies or ignores history. The Christian middle position is the most tenable despite internal tensions.
