Marlon FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) through-hull fittings eliminate underwater metal corrosion issues and are particularly beneficial for aluminum hulls and carbon fiber structures, where they avoid galvanic corrosion problems; they meet specific marine standards and are not simple hardware-store plastic fittings.
A 37-foot Californian with a flybridge has significantly more windage than a 40-foot Sea Ray (non-flybridge), requiring a more powerful thruster even though both are similar length, because the flybridge design creates additional wind resistance that affects bow thruster effectiveness.
